Orchid is a decentralized network of VPN service providers that enables onion routing for private browsing. Using probabilistic nanopayments, the Orchid network takes continuous micropayments from an OXT wallet to allow a user to browse and pay for only the bandwidth they consume. There is currently a withdrawal delay of three months to repoint or remove staked OXT. The Orchid protocol contains no automatic benefits for staking and provides no inflation to fund staking. All rewards from staking are dependent on Orchid customers paying for bandwidth and are distributed proportional to stake.
Bloq infrastructure is non-custodial and allows you to stake your OXT while retaining control. At no point does Bloq hold your private keys nor will Bloq have access to withdraw the staked OXT.
Regaining access to your staked OXT is a two-step process. First you must call a “pull” function which removes the stake deposit entry and starts a pending withdrawal. Currently, the Orchid Client imposes a minimum three-month withdrawal delay. After waiting through the delay period, you may then call a “take” function to claim the tokens and transfer them to any payable address.
